"Beware of Steep undisclosed security deposit. Before I even confirmed my reservation but after deducting the money from my account, the Jungle House sent me an email saying I had to pay $300 security deposit within 45 minutes or they would give my room away. I didn't have the extra money or credit so they sold my room to someone else and kept my money. I was visiting because my brother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. What a rip off."

"We had an excellent time at Mitchell's steakhouse! The food, the service the ambience it was absolutely fantastic. We ended up reserving the space that was semi private for my sons engagement dinner. It was absolutely delightful. I highly recommend. The drinks were delicious and the servers were kind. The jalapeño scalloped potatoes were so good!"

"Hit up Short North Pint House and got the quesadilla with short rib server brought it out with spicy ranch and I was obsessed. Food came out super fast, service was on point, and those happy hour prices? Too good. Definitely gonna be back for this spot. Also love sitting at the bar because the ice section to keep your drink cold is super cool!"

"So my wife and I went to the location on High Street on Saturday and the food was awful: the salad tasted old, the steak and mashed potatoes were so garlicky we couldn't them, and the dessert was Aramark quality. Additionally , we had horrible service from the bar. The bartender and server seemed to intentionally place our orders outside of happy hour pricing. And while we were attempting to escape together from drama and stressors from day to day life, we were unwillingly subjected to it as a server confronted fellow employees at the bar because he "couldn't please anyone" before storming out. I will NEVER be back. Jeff Ruby's is obviously the better choice."
we are looking at buying a house that has a stone fireplace in the living room and a place in the basement to connect a woodstove, the house is 1456 sq ft on one floor and the basement is same sq. footage and completely open. was wondering if placing a woodstove in the basement wood supply...
If you are getting smoke in the house or you stove just don’t seem to be burning like should. Check the door seal and latch for a tight fit. Check the ash pan for shut tight and latched If all doors seals are good and latched. MOST pellet stove are Negative air. (Inside of the Firebox is...
Context: 78 YO house, 2 ft thick uninsulated masonry walls, full daylight basement with walkin on north side (bummer), massive concrete foundation with basement stairs, laundry room floor, and two porches all poured along with the foundation. The front of the house faces south, but the south...
Anyone watch Homestead Rescue Raneys ranch on Discovery channel? I was watching it last night and the fathers house had a bit of a chimney fire that got out of hand and they completely lost their cabin on the homestead they have been working on for most of the show for the last few years. Not...
My house has a poor man’s interior French drain. A plastic water channel around the basement perimeter, sealed to the floor and walls, directed to a sump pump.
Improving chimney updraftWe often hear the complaint that someone has a "bad" stove or fireplace because it smokes into the house. In our experience, however, draft problems are almost never caused by the fireplace or appliance. The chimney is the engine of every wood-burning system: in order for the fire to burn properly, the chimney must pull combustion air through the fireplace or stove ...
My house is approx 2200 sq feet of livable space with the unfinished basement adding another 500 sq feet. What size stove might I need? Do any of you have one installed in the basement? Do you think a pellet stove will put out enough heat to help me? I really do not have a spot to install it on the main level of the house.
Hello, I am new to the forum. Lurking for a while now. I joined to ask if, in a through the wall installation, should I run my stove pipe up as high as possible before going through the wall? If I terminated at the minimum distance, I would have over 15' of chimney up the side of my house and...
The part of the house with the non accessible crawl space has no plumbing or wiring under the floor. So what if I just pumped those areas full of foam? My worry would be trapping moisture where I dont want it causing rot and mold, which I hear is a major concern. Hmm, my first thought is that sounds like a lot of foam, and expensive.
The stack was lower than my house and it would set off a smoke detector in my attic. The town elected to work with him and after he put in a 30' extension on his stack it became far less of an issue. Obviously making your home tighter will reduce the smoke getting inside. If you have a chimney and are not using it, that is logical thing to seal ...
