Unfortunately the fog and a large amount of floating ice in the bay prevented our ship from getting too close. I can only imagine how impressive this thing is at close range. Still very happy to ha…Full review by Passenger717625

The cruise ship sailed through the night from its last destination, so we could see the sun rise on the Elias Mountains as we sailed to Hubbard Glacier, on the last day of our cruise. Hubbard Glacier…Full review by Violette54

It was cold and rainy and miserable out and yet this was one of the most stunning places I’ve ever seen. Despite the weather we got incredibly close. The sound of the ice calving was insane. We saw G…Full review by casshannah91

The only "up close and personal" view of the glacier was offered through Celebrity. We were the only ones to leave the boat. It was close to $300 a person. However, I justified it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If is it too expensive for your budget, you do cruise into the bay and see the glacier. I heard from those who stayed on the ship that they could hear some of the cracking but couldn't really see the calving. We could hear the cracking, "thunder" and see the calving while the boat guides answered questions and offered information and insight, which added to the whole experience.
