Hi- My mom and I will be visiting Vienna in mid-March, and the two possible times we have for visiting the Albertina are Friday evening (around 6:30 pm) or Monday morning (around 10:30 am). In either case we hope to spend about two hours in order to see the permanent collection, the special exhibition of the Liechtenstein collections, and the state rooms. Does anyone have an idea about which of the two times would be better in terms of smaller crowds? Or do you think that in March it shouldn't be too crowded at either time? Many thanks!

I prefer doing art galleries in the morning. Don’t expect to see the original hare. Make sure you go to Bitzinger outside the albertina afterwards for a bratwurst. Do someonthing else …
I prefer doing art galleries in the morning. Don’t expect to see the original hare. Make sure you go to Bitzinger outside the albertina afterwards for a bratwurst. Do someonthing else in the evening. The Shmetterlinghaus around the corner is nice to do because it’s so hot and the butterflies are lovely. Try the Palmenhaus for a coffee after.

We visited in early December and were told that it was mandatory to put outdoor garments in the cloakroom at a non-refundable cost - which I find uninviting and unacceptable. If there are free lockers, do no expect anyone working there to point this out to you. I think you can see from the management’s responses to negative reviews that they don’t really care about the visitor experience.
