I agree with others' views. Moreover, La Defense has one of the biggest terminal and connecting stations in Paris for commuting across the city and suburbs. It also has RERs connecting to different main junction stations of the city. I personally stayed in La Defense for 2-3 times during my visits in Paris and every time all the while it was very convenient to get any trains/metros to any of the locations from here. This place also has its own charm being the little Manhattan of Paris. However you need to keep in mind that you will stay out of the heart of the city being here. I believe such little adjustments make life more interesting and economical :-)
