Nothing like being in the desert in the winter. temperatures in the 70's and 80's. no snakes to look out for. trails are well marked. can see the giant saguaro's which only in Arizona.Full review by Roam73230

Thinking about an end of year trip around Christmas to New Year. Active family, college age kids. Is the temperature reasonable for hiking, horseback riding.etc. Weather history seems to indicate 50s-60s during the day but I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually visited then. Thanks!

Either one is only about 30 to 45 min. max from the highway to the visitor center in each section Try putting in your map app on a smart phone - Tucson to the Red Hills Visitor Center (West part of the NP). You'll get a good number that is likely in that range.
