The newly introduced research domains include promising fields such as 'Compound Semiconductor Technologies' at IIT Bombay, innovative 'Laser Beam Combining based Communication, Power Transmission & Manufacturing and Extraction & Recycling of Materials' at IIT Hyderabad.

India’s Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System was launched at Aero India 2025 under a public-private partnership.Developed under DRDO’s Transfer of Technology (ToT) framework, the system strengthens India's self-reliance in defence and enhances protection against asymmetric drone threats.
