Beau Shroyer, 44, a former Detroit Lakes police officer and real estate agent, was killed “in an act of violence” on Oct. 25, according to his hometown church. He had moved to Angola in 2021 with his wife and five children to do missionary work.

Less than two weeks ago, Shroyer's wife was arrested in connection with his death. The couple shared five children.

LUBANGO, ANGOLA (KFGO) – Angolan authorities say two suspects in the death of Detroit Lakes missionary Beau Shroyer have been arrested. A third suspect is still at large. Shoyer’s wife has also been arrested after what authorities are describing as a murder-for-hire scheme.

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KFGO) – The wife of a Detroit Lakes missionary killed in Africa has been arrested in connection with his death. Lakes Area Vineyard Church lead pastor Troy Easton says Beau Shroyer was killed in a violent attack Friday while serving in Angola, Africa. Shroyer’s wife, Jackie, was arrested earlier this week.
