A weird week for BioWare just got a little weirder, as EA reveals in its new quarterly financial statement that Dragon Age: The Veilguard unperformed sales expectations by 50% for the company's 2025 fiscal year third quarter.

Publisher Electronic Arts (EA) and developer BioWare's latest role-playing game, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, grabbed around 1.5 million players, but missed EA's expectations by almost 50%. That comes via a preliminary earnings report from EA,

The Veilguard and EA Sports FC 25 underperformed, with Dragon Age specifically falling 50% short of expectations.

EA has lowered its financial forecast for the rest of this fiscal year, ending March 2025. The publisher points primarily to the underperformance of FC 25 — formerly known as FIFA — alongside sales of Dragon Age: The Veilguard failing to meet expectations.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson has confirmed EA Sports FC 25 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard did not meet sales expectations.

Even so, it’s clear that the Game Director Corinne Busch is ready to move on from the project and from EA altogether, as she has officially confirmed that she will be leaving the company. As of now, no additional departures from BioWare have been announced, and this doesn’t appear to be part of a wider staffing change.

UPDATE 4pm UK: Dragon Age game director Corinne Busche has now confirmed her departure from BioWare and EA in a statement to Eurogamer. In it, Busche said she had left the studio for a new post elsewhere, after being offered an oppurtunity to build a fresh RPG she "couldn't turn down".
