Fashion shouldn’t be difficult to understand or wear. That’s the view of Gucci designer Sabato de Sarno, who presented his third womenswear collection at the Triennale di Milano on Friday across red lacquered floors — the identifiable colour of Gucci under his tenure.

The vacation vibes could be felt in the sun hats, oversized sunglasses, and jet-set Gucci Flora headscarves, while evening-ready drama was delivered via twinkling Gatsby dresses and coats that sported glittering fringe (and came with coordinating bags).

Creative director Sabato De Sarno stayed the course, showing more Ancora red leather, sporty tailoring, lingerie looks, horsebit accessories and nods to famous Gucci customer of yore Jacqueline Kennedy.
