A couple celebrating the impending birth of their second child have died while snorkelling in Hawaii. Ilya Tsaruk, 25, and his pregnant wife, Sophia Tsaruk, 26, were found unresponsive in the water near the north side of Ahihi-Kina'u Natural Area Reserve on Maui on 14 September.

Family members identified the couple on their verified GoFundMe page as 25-year-old Ilya Tsaruk and 26-year-old Sophia Tsaruk. Sophia Tsaruk was pregnant and the couple also had an 18-month-old son who was not with them at the time of their deaths, according to the GoFundMe page.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -Police have identified the two parents who drowned off Maui on Saturday. The couple has been identified as Ilya Tasruk, 25, and Sophia Kovalevich, 26, of Snohomish, Washington. They were both pulled from the ocean at the Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve.
