The Los Angeles Lakers signed veteran free-agent center Alex Len on Tuesday to bolster their frontcourt depth after their failed attempt to acquire Charlotte center Mark Williams.

Len was waived by the Wizards after a deadline trade and it initially seemed like he would be joining the Pacers

Following the rescinding of their trade for Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams, the Los Angeles Lakers still had a big need at center with Jaxson Hayes being the only true big on a standard contract.
