A man "hellbent" on creating carnage drove around barricades and hurtled down Bourbon Street in New Orleans' French Quarter, police said.

Investigators said they recovered an ISIS flag from the pickup truck, and FBI bomb technicians also found two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in coolers: one that was found at the intersection of Bourbon and Orleans streets and one at another intersection about two blocks away.

It is the deadliest attack by ISIS on the West in several years. But still, almost a week later, the group also known as Islamic State has yet to issue its trademark claim of responsibility for the horrific New Year’s violence in New Orleans.
