NORTH TEXAS – North Texas is bracing for a mix of snow and sleet. A winter storm warning went into effect Thursday morning and continues until 12 p.m. Friday. The warning includes Denton, Collin, Dallas and Tarrant counties.

Snow and ice and snow are accumulating on bridges and overpasses of major highways, according to TxDOT. Motorists should drive with caution and expect traffic delays.

Some grocers and other retailers are closing early Thursday – even as many remain open amid the wintry blast. Tom Thumb and Albertsons stores in North Texas opened as normal but will close early at 7 p.
