Major Wall Street indexes surged to record highs on Thursday, boosted by gains in global markets and a rise in Treasury yields. Investors’ risk appetite was heightened as the Federal Reserve initiated its first rate-cutting cycle in more than four years, according to a report by Reuters.

The S P BSE Sensex was up 965 points to 84,149.80 at 11:30 am, while the NSE Nifty50 gained 276.60 points to trade at 25,692.40.

The two key equity benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, on Thursday hit their all-time highs following US Federal Reserve announced a 50 bps rate cut on Wednesday evening. At 9.40 am, the BSE Sensex 637 points to 83,
