Per Rapoport, the Bengals' "exhaustive" search involved "calling nearly all teams with three quarterbacks or a viable practice squad option," which led them to inquire about Texans' QB2 Davis Mills, Eagles' QB3 Sam Howell and even former Saints QB Derek Carr, who retired over the offseason.
Cincinnati (2-3) is coming off a loss to the Detroit Lions and Green Bay (2-1-1) is coming off a bye week. Quarterback Joe Flacco will start for the Bengals and if Cincinnati wins he'd be the only quarterback in the Super Bowl era to beat the same team twice in a season playing for different teams – Flacco and the Cleveland Browns beat the Packers in Week 3.
