COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - ERCOT issued an official weather watch this Sunday as a notice of higher electrical demand and the potential for that stress to result in a shortage of needed energy. Although, an expert at Texas A&M says ERCOT can handle this week’s weather.

ERCOT, the electrical grid operator for most of Texas, issued a weather watch for early next week when temperatures are expected to drop below freezing. The watch is scheduled to last Monday through Wednesday and was issued “due to extreme cold weather across the ERCOT region,
