Asus is not releasing new netbooks to celebrate this momentous decision -- rather, it is retrofitting this year's Eee PC 1001PXD, 1011PX, and 1015PX with Ubuntu 10.10.
Canonical said that Asus has started shipping from June 1 three Eee PC models, the 1001PXD, 1011PX and 1015PX, with Ubuntu 10.10 pre-installed.
That's not going to change anytime soon but apparently Asus is renewing its commitment to open source and has revealed it will start shipping some of its Eee PC netbooks with Ubuntu 10.10 preloaded.
