Sunny Isles, Florida, police on Friday dispersed a "large, non-permitted spring break gathering" in the vacation destination north of Miami and south of Fort Lauderdale.

An 18-year-old was accused of biting a man’s ear off during a brawl on a South Florida beach, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

While city leaders claim victory, many local business owners see a different reality: empty streets, vacant restaurant tables and dwindling profits.
