I just got my hands on the new Garmin Instinct 3, launched at CES 2025, and promptly slapped it on my wrist to put the fitness tracking chops to the test: logging my entire day on the tradeshow floor, bopping from product demo to product demo while dodging meander bodies under harsh lighting.

Watches from the Instinct 3 series will be available to order from January 10. “Instinct 3 is the smartwatch you can wear whenever, wherever,” said Garmin’s Vice President of Global Consumer Sales Dan Bartel. “The latest lineup is built to help you follow your passions - whatever they may be.”

The setup of the Instinct 3 range mirrors the Garmin Fenix 8 range, which also has solar, AMOLED and a cheaper E model. The Instinct 3 is likely to draw some customers away from the flagship Fenix 8, which is much more expensive, though does offer some key upgrades including offline maps.
