MUSKEGON, MI – A mural artist who has done work for Taylor Swift is painting a set of giant butterfly wings in downtown Muskegon this week. The mural is expected to be finished by Friday, June 14.
The giant painting wraps around three sides of an 11-story building and is visible for miles around, featuring a 50-foot-tall monarch butterfly on the north wall.
The butterfly was released and flew directly to a tree before disappearing out of sight. The giant swallowtail has migrated nearly 400 kilometres north in the last decade.
