Crews are racing to find survivors under rubble Russia targets Kyiv in air strikes for the second time in a week.

Russia’s nearly unimpeded strikes are the consequence of a global dearth of interceptors for the U.S.-made Patriot antimissile system.

Ballistic missiles were fired into the capital of Ukraine as Russia launched its second major attack in less than a week. At least 16 people were killed, officials said.

Ukraine’s U.N. ambassador called Russia a “pariah state" after Moscow launched one of its heaviest overnight attacks on Kyiv, killing at least 18 people and wounding more than 90 people.

"The United States and Europe have enough strength to stop this terror," said Zelensky ahead of the NATO summit in Turkey this week.

July 7 (Reuters) - Ukrainian drones struck eight tankers from Russia's so-called "shadow fleet" that were delivering fuel to Crimea overnight, Kyiv's military said on Tuesday, part of a mounting effort to isolate the Russian-occupied peninsula.

The body of a Ukrainian woman, Anastasiia Berezovska, was discovered near Kyiv. She was the chief suspect in a Monaco bomb attack targeting businessman Vadym Yermolaiev. Yermolaiev and his family were injured in the explosion last week.

The Kyiv Independent found that a mass Meta ban on posts about the Russian attack on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra stemmed from two causes: one questionable photo and a technical glitch on Meta's part.
