A judge intends to rule this week on a plan for local governments and individual victims to vote on OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma’s plan to settle thousands of lawsuits over the toll of opioids.

More states, territories and Washington, D.C., have signed on to a settlement with drugmaker Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family over the opioid crisis, officials said.

The money is part of nearly $730 million obtained to combat the opioid crisis and support recovery efforts statewide.
