PRETORIA (Reuters) - The third Twenty20 International between South Africa and India was halted early in the home side’s reply after a wave of flying ants descended on Centurion Park in Pretoria on Wednesday and forced the players from the field.

India broke and equalled a barrage of records during the match, including becoming the first-ever team in T20 history to register more than 200 sixes in a single calendar year.

The third T20I between India and South Africa was temporarily halted due to thousands of flying ants descending on the stadium. Players were asked to stop by the umpires after the first over of the second innings, with the ants making it impossible to carry on.

Tilak Varma scored a maiden Twenty20 International century with a brilliant 107 from 56 balls to help India to an 11-run victory over hosts South Africa at Centurion Park on Wednesday, a game that was stopped for nearly half an hour by flying ants.

Tristan Stubbs has scored a patient 47 not out off 41 balls as South Africa beat India by three wickets in the second Twenty20 to level the four-match series 1-1.

South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first against India in the third T20I in Centurion. Meanwhile, debutant Ramandeep Singh replaced Avesh Khan in India's playing XI.
