The VP100 base unit is an economy auxiliary plotter and has to be connected to a PC via a USB connection. It is a high speed plotting device and enables plotting of different markers in one setting.
Stand-alone printers are benchtop or floor-standing units with a full casing or cabinet and an integral interface. Kiosk and POS printers that are portable and/or handheld are also available.
Today, computers are commonly networked in the home so that family members can share an Internet connection as well as printers and scanners. They would still all be considered stand-alone PCs.
