Amazon just announced its latest Kindle lineup, including waterproof tablets. These are Amazon's waterproof Kindles and exactly how waterproof they are.

The 11th-gen Paperwhite update, released in late 2021 for $140, was a big quality-of-life upgrade, with a bigger 6.8-inch screen, adjustable color temperature, USB-C, more frontlight LEDs, and (in the more-expensive Signature Edition) an auto-brightness sensor and wireless charging.

The 2024 Paperwhite is faster than previous generations. Amazon doesn’t specify what processor and memory make this possible but claims the ereader has 20% faster page turns than the 2021 model. Navigating the Paperwhite's user interface has never been easier, especially when it comes to typing on the on-screen keyboard.

The new Paperwhite features a slightly larger screen, improved performance and slightly better contrast. Should you ditch your old Kindle for it?
