An hour and 20 minutes before first pitch in the Bronx on Friday, Juan Soto, the $765 million Met, got his final gift from the Yankees.

Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt, brought in as part of the Yankees’ pivot once Soto chose the Mets’ $765 million over their $760 million, combined for five hits, three runs and two RBIs to lead a patient offensive attack.

The Yankees pivoted to Max Fried, Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger, and others soon after Soto signed with the Mets. Fried, who will start Sunday's Subway Series finale, has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this year. Goldschmidt is having a resurgent season as well.
