TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — New York Yankees pitching prospect Chase Hampton had Tommy John surgery Friday to repair his right elbow. Manager Aaron Boone announced the development after Friday’s exhibition season opener.

Hampton’s injuries limited him to seven starts in 2024. He recorded a 2.41 ERA between Rookie Ball, Single-A and Double-A.
