The social media platform X was temporarily available again in Brazil amid a ban as the result of an update to its servers, the company said.

A shift to the Cloudflare server provider is thought to be responsible for restoring X's social media services for Brazilian users despite an ongoing ban.

Brazil's Supreme Court ordered Elon Musk-owned X not to circumvent a previous ruling suspending the social media platform in the country, at risk of a daily fine of 5 million reais ($921,726.95), according to a decision issued late on Wednesday.

Brazilian X users can suddenly access the app again after X switches to Cloudflare's servers. An X spokesperson says the access is temporary, and the company will comply with the ban.

X is reportedly back online for many people in Brazil, more than two weeks after the service was blocked in the country. The change, though, isn’t because Brazil’s government has reversed its stance on the Elon Musk-owned platform.

Brazil has fined Elon Musk's companies after some users in the country were able to briefly access the social media platform X, despite a ban imposed last month. Brazilian users swarmed the site on Wednesday after X updated how its servers within the country were accessed.

X suddenly went live in Brazil on Wednesday after an apparent update to its communications network that allowed it to use cloud services via third parties. But it went back offline again on Thursday.
