Line Fire initially started 6:33 p.m. Sep. 5 in San Bernardino County. It has burned 39,232 acres after being active for two weeks. A crew of 3,399 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 51% of the fire as of Thursday afternoon. The fire is suspected to have been started deliberately.

The 38,417-acre Line Fire in San Bernardino County is 25% contained Saturday as it was less active overnight because of air moisture.

Cal Fire said about four structures were damaged and one was destroyed based on the damage assessments so far.

A Norco man accused of deliberately igniting the 39,000-acre Line fire that forced thousands of residents of Highland and the San Bernardino Mountains to flee pleaded not guilty to nine felony arson counts on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

While progress continues Thursday morning with the Line Fire 18% contained, the 37,207-acre blaze is now forcing evacuations in the Big Bear community.

Charges were filed Thursday against the man suspected of starting the Line Fire burning in San Bernardino County. The massive blaze grew by nearly 1,000 acres overnight but officials say that weather conditions have helped slow its spread.

As mandatory evacuations forced people from their homes, the Line Fire burned more than 34,000 acres while authorities arrested a San Bernardino County man on suspicion of starting the massive Southern California blaze.

An arson suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the Line Fire, one of three major wildfires that are burning in Southern California. The fires have destroyed dozens of homes and forced thousands of residents to evacuate.
