Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Wednesday (22 January) that the state has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth nearly Rs 16 lakh crore during the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos.

Devendra Fadnavis also stressed on the importance of sustainable development and climatic challenges, which were deliberated during the WEF.

The Maharashtra government signed over 50 MoUs with prominent companies at the ongoing World Economic Forum, including the Tata Group, Ceat, Essar Renewables, and Bharat Forge

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced an $8.3 billion investment in cloud infrastructure in Maharashtra’s Mumbai region, aimed at expanding the country’s cloud computing capacity by 2030. This investment, part of AWS’s $12.7 billion commitment announced in May 2023, is expected to generate over 81,200 jobs within India’s data centre supply chain.
