The College Football Playoff continues on New Year's Day when (1) Oregon faces (8) Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. This is a rematch of one of the best games of the 2024 college football season when Oregon defeated Ohio State 32-31 on Oct.

Ohio State and Oregon meet in the Rose Bowl for a trip to the semifinals. This game takes place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. This is the 12th all-time meeting between the Ducks and Buckeyes on the gridiron.

Not even the Granddaddy of Them All can remain unchanged by the 12-team College Football Playoff. Oregon and Ohio State can't participate in much of the traditional Rose Bowl pageantry because the oldest bowl game is serving as a CFP quarterfinal this year.
