Two people were arrested in a stolen car in Waterbury last week after the driver struck a police cruiser and a brick building during a failed escape attempt.

Waterbury Police put out this video to highlight the work that’s being done by the city’s auto theft task force and the dangers those are officers facing. Since the start of this year the task force has tracked down 31 stolen cars around Waterbury— which is down from 94 on this same date last year.

Waterbury police released dashcam and body camera video from two arrests made in a stolen car case out of Bridgeport. They note it highlights the work done by officers to hold those stealing cars accountable.
