In 1987, the RUF CTR Yellowbird was the world's fastest production car and had the potential to humble the Ferrari F40.

However, both Corriere della Sera newspaper and another Italian publication, Autosprint, claim Hamilton actually asked Ferrari if the F40 could be in black – not its iconic scarlet red.

The Ferrari F40 holds a very special place in automotive history, not just for its looks and performance, but as the last road car to be designed under the watch of Enzo Ferrari himself.
