The San Francisco 49ers have removed Nick Sorensen from his role as defensive coordinator, ESPN reported. He just completed his first season in the position after being elevated from defensive passing game specialist and nickelbacks coach.

For the second time in less than 11 months, the San Francisco 49ers are in the market for a new defensive coordinator.  According to NBC Sports Bay Area, the 49ers have decided that Nick Sorensen won't be returning as the team's defensive coordinator in 2025.
