As Denver continues to navigate a new base defense being played against Nikola Jokic lineups, others had to step up in Denver’s win vs the Sacramento Kings last night. Russell Westbrook hit some big shots, Jamal Murray got to the free throw line 15 times, and Zeke Nnaji turned the tide on defense, anchoring a Nuggets comeback effort.

Westbrook went for 25 points, two steals, two blocks and a corner three with 1:28 to go that doubled Denver’s lead. Sacramento did not go quietly — Zach LaVine answered 20 seconds later to creep back within one score — but the Nuggets made the stops and free throws necessary to escape.
