Despite some similarities to peers including Instagram and Twitter, Pinterest typically isn’t considered a social network. In fact, in a 2015 interview, Silbermann supported that interpretation.

The app made its way on the App Store and the Google Play Store in the U.S. and U.K. earlier this year, reportedly already garnering over 4 million monthly U.S. users.

“Shuffles is a standalone app created by TwoTwenty, Pinterest’s innovative incubator team. Shuffles is an engaging way to create, publish, and share visual content,” the spokesperson said.
