Even though Denzel Washington’s Gladiator II performance is the highlight of the movie, it’s possible that he ended up going down with the ship. Another year, another BAFTA snub for Denzel Washington. The two-time Oscar winner was snubbed again by the British Academy on Wednesday, missing out on a nomination in Best Supporting Actor for Gladiator II.

In fact, Washington has never been nominated for a BAFTA. Considering his career took off in the 1980s and he's won two Oscars and three Golden Globes as well as being nominated at the Emmys and the Grammys, it is quite remarkable.

Washington’s Oscar hopes for his villainous turn in Gladiator II are probably over after missing with SAG in supporting actor. Only Ralph Fiennes got in with SAG from the Conclave ensemble. Colman Domingo got nominated for Sing Sing, but Maclin did not.
