DETROIT – Looks like the NHL schedule-maker played a trick on the Detroit Red Wings and sent them on a midseason trip to the four places where they’ve struggled the most in recent years. The Red Wings, following a seven-game winning streak under new coach Todd McLellan, hit a bump in the road Tuesday with a 6-3 loss to San Jose.

Detroit is looking to respond after a 6-3 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, which ended its season-high seven-game winning streak. Two goals from Vladimir Tarasenko and one goal from Lucas Raymond saw the Red Wings pull within 4-3 just before the midway mark of the third period, but Detroit ultimately couldn’t find the equalizer.

Even though San Jose was able to cool off the red-hot Red Wings on Tuesday night, Detroit fans have to be pleased with what they've been witnessing since the turn of the new year.
