Warner Bros. announced Wednesday that it will be rebranding Max, the app formerly known as HBO Max, into, uh, HBO Max.

Warner Bros. Discovery executives are reinstating the name HBO Max for the popular streaming service. It’s the fourth name change for the app in the last decade.

In one of his many moves after the big WarnerMedia-Discovery merger in 2022, Zaslav rebranded the HBO Max streaming platform simply as Max in an effort to merge Discovery's programming with Warner Bros. and HBO's library of titles. In the years since, however, subscriber interest in many of the Discovery programming has dwindled.
