Police have laid a new charge against the alleged driver in a Jan. 27 crosswalk fatality in Halifax.

An updated report was issued from the National Weather Service on Friday at 12:27 a.m. for strong thunderstorms until 1 a.m. The alert is for Pittsylvania, Halifax and Charlotte counties.
