The issue is a faulty sensor in the front passenger's seat and includes Toyota Camry, Corolla, Highlander, RAV4, and Lexus ES and RX models, among others.

By Keith Barry. Toyota and Lexus are recalling over 110,000 vehicles to fix a faulty electrical connection that may prevent the driver’s-side airbag from inflating in a crash.

Toyota announced the recall of 1.7 million North American vehicles on Wednesday, a part of the ongoing recall involving potentially deadly Takata front passenger airbag inflators.

Toyota said a defect could cause airbags not to deploy, increasing the risk of injury. The vehicles include Avalons, Camrys, Highlanders, RAV4s, Siennas and Corollas for model years 2020 to 2022.

Toyota and Lexus dealers will inspect the OCS sensors and replace them if necessary at no cost to owners. Toyota will notify customers by the middle of February 2024 if their cars are in the recall.
