It is believed that the offerings made to Lord Shiva here go to the caves located here. The Shrikhand Kailash Yatra is considered to be the most difficult among the Panch Kailash.

Lord Shiva is worshipped as Mallikarjuna ... the shivalinga was installed by Lord Rama here, while one was made of sand and the other was brought from Mount Kailash by Hanuman.
