The first College Football Playoff semifinal is set as (8) Ohio State and (5) Texas will meet in the Cotton Bowl on Friday, Jan. 10 with a spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship on the line. This will be just the fourth meeting all-time, and the first since 2009, between two of the sport's most storied program.

Ohio State takes on Texas in the Cotton Bowl, which serves as a semifinal in the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes are favored.

After being banned from the sidelines for the SEC Championship Game and the CFP Quarterfinal at the Peach Bowl, both held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Bevo will be back for the CFP Semifinal in the Cotton Bowl.

Texas' live mascot, which weighs more than 1,700 pounds and has a horn span of more than 58 inches, is set to attend the CFP semifinal.

Texas Football announced Friday on social media that the "big guy" is headed to Arlington for the Cotton Bowl Classic next Friday, Jan. 10.
