NEW YORK, New York -- NBC News’ Craig Melvin has been named co-anchor with Savannah Guthrie for the “Today” show at 7 and 8 a.m. Melvin, who has been with NBC for 14 years, will replace Hoda Kotb after she announced this year she would be leaving the show.

Melvin will also continue to co-host the “Today” show’s third hour with Dylan Dreyer, Sheinelle Jones, and SUNY Oswego alumnus Al Roker. The fourth hour, co-hosted by Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, will become “Today with Jenna & Friends” with a rotating cast of co-hosts until a permanent replacement is selected.
