The Southeastern Conference fined Vanderbilt University $500,000 for storming the court Saturday after the Commodores upset No. 9 Kentucky, 74-69 — an amount reflective of Vanderbilt's third storming event.

Vanderbilt has officially been fined $500,000 for storming the court after beating Kentucky, the conference announced Sunday.

The first offense carried a $100,000 fine and the second offense was $250,000. The third (and all subsequent incidents) carry a maximum $500,000 fine. Because it is a conference game, Vanderbilt will pay the money directly to the University of Kentucky,

Vanderbilt's athletic director was openly pleading with students to not storm the court before the game ended.
