There's a dispute over who has the rights to a wild deer in Fayette County. One woman tried to claim the deer as her pet, giving it a dog collar and even getting it vaccinated. But the Pennsylvania Game Commission says she can't do that and took it away from her.

The story of a 2-year-old buck known as Baby that was cared for like a pet in Connellsville is dividing people. Some are upset that the deer was taken away, but the Pennsylvania Game Commission says no one has the legal authority to "possess" wildlife.

Officers learned that the woman was Tamara Shiery, 64, and said she was keeping the deer as a pet illegally in a fenced-in area around her house. The Pennsylvania Game Commission said the animal had been castrated and altered to prevent its antlers from growing. It was being kept in a fenced-in area around Shiery’s house.
