Ford Recalls Nearly 150K Bronco SUVs for Suspension Snafu

The flaw, which affects vehicles made between February 2021 and October 2023, can cause sudden power loss, potentially leaving drivers stranded or unable to start their vehicles.

On affected Broncos, the remote reservoir for the rear shocks could completely fall off if its mount rusts away; as Ford puts it, “the long-flange rear shock absorbers in affected vehicles may experience corrosion between the external reservoir, the mounting flange, and the damper body, resulting in separation of the external reservoir.”

Ford says the remedy is under development, and that it will notify owners by mail.
