Two Canada geese found on the campus of UMass Amherst have tested positive for bird flu. According to the University, the geese tested positive for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), (H5N1) which is the first known positive test on campus.

A representative with the Ohio Division of Wildlife told 13 Action News someone reported counting at least 15 dead and dying geese in Bowling Green. The agency’s wildlife management team deems it “highly probable” that the cause is the highly pathogenic avian influenza.

Multiple dead geese were located near a pond on Gettysburg College’s campus. According to Gettysburg College, on Saturday the Pennsylvania Game Commission responded to a reported dead goose near Quarry Pond.
