Argyle were in disarray by half-time, trailing 4-0 due to goals from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, Ephron Mason-Clark, and a Josh Eccles double, leaving them powerless to prevent Coventry's dominance. The Pilgrims did manage to halt Coventry's relentless assault in the second half, yet the first-half onslaught had inflicted irreversible damage.
