As the investigation picks up momentum in the case of the stabbing attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, new details continue to emerge. As per media reports, the accused, who allegedly is a Bangladeshi national, wanted to rob someone rich in order to flee to Bangladesh for his mother’s treatment.

Meanwhile, the police are yet to recover the part of the knife used to attack Saif Ali Khan. According to a report in The Times of India, the police said that the accused broke into Saif's home with the intention of robbery because of extreme poverty.

Police revealed that Saif Ali Khan's attacker, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, panicked after seeing his image on TV and planned to flee to Bangladesh, but was apprehended following the extensive investigation.

After meeting Actor Saif Ali Khan and his family, Bhajan Singh, the auto-rickshaw driver who took the actor to Lilavati Hospital, said that he just wanted the auto-rickshaw driver’s life to be saved.

Saif Ali Khan recently returned home after undergoing a major surgery. He was stabbed with a knife by an intruder who entered his residence.
